Alright ladies and gentleman having lived thru the golden age of AMP's in the Twin Cities 80's and 90's and with the closing of Method it seems the old style free standing AMP with a great table shower and FS has completely been removed from the local scene.
I know a lot of this had to do with redevelopment of old buildings and bad areas....coupled with the local PC people wanting to shutdown every AMP...but is Backpage the only solution...I wouldn't touch a BP add with a 10 foot pole...it just smells of LE...
Whats next? anyone have any ideas? or is it RIP for AMPS?

In the golden age before the inner webs you had Metropolitan Forum as the advertising vehicle and cruising the urban landscape looking for a storefront with that telltale appearance. You then went in and tested their wares. If you liked it you went back for more. Each time was like Christmas, sometimes you got disappointment not getting what you wanted, but opening up the package was still exciting.

Now most places are tease joints with young, uninterested and uninteresting providers who offer little more than flashy wrapping and no substance. Back Page has spawned a pethora of alledged nineteen year-olds offering the worl's best massage. It's difficult now to judge a 17 year-old from a 19 year-old. Why take the chance? I'll gladly take the over 30 provider and the experience she brings.

I think that it is still possible set up a place like a Method but no one has stepped up to the plate yet. I too remember the golden age, it was the tail-end of it when I first started visiting parlors, spas, health clubs, etc. It would be nice to see that return again here but I doubt it ever will. Method had a great operation going because they stuck to one important rule just like in real estate - location, location, location. You need to be far away from nosy neighbors and keep things somewhat discreet like they did.

Traveling about I have noticed one thing. In areas where municipalities are not hospitable to AMPs, they have thrived in counties with little zoning and oversight. I think this is the next progression. Kind of like old juke joints in the South.

I agree and when you look at the zoning were Method was, it made for an ideal spot. That and owning almost all of the surrounding properties doesn't hurt either

Like I said, id be the most hated on MP owner in town anyone would otherwise id do it.
there's a market for tease joints obviously because they keep getting reviews, glowing ones at that.
last thing anyone wants is a R.R. type situation going on in msp.
I promise whenever I have the time to build a fully functional time machine I will take a few gents with me and we will get as many old fashioned massages as we can afford.
